Tristan Kochoyan
Founder, CEO
Tristan founded Power:On after graduating from HEC Paris. The company, a pioneer in the minigrid sector in Benin and West Africa, is unlocking projects that will allow over 30.000 people to access electricity by 2023.
Tristan installed the first ever minigrid in Benin in 2015 and has privately managed it ever since. His innovation helped establish the necessary regulatory requirements in a country who hadn’t yet formalized this sector.
Tristan has been able to attract renowned partners such as Akuo Energy, Eranove, SparkMeter, Odyssey Energy Solutions, the Millenium Challenge Corporation and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).

Jake Muhleman
Co-Owner, Technical Director
Jake has degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT and UCLA, and an MBA from Edhec.
Jake has been an entrepreneur in Benin for the last 10 years, where he notably founded a distillery producing an award-winning premium version of the local palm liquor that was the first of its kind to be exported out of the region.
Since 2016, Jake has been the Private Co-Chair of OSAC Benin, a public/private partnership with the US embassy charged with information sharing on regional security concerns.
Jake has been working on projects for Power:On since 2020 in Benin, Togo, and Guinea.
